My name is Paul Nielson and I live in the State of Utah,
in the central part of Utah County, in the city of
Orem. I moved to Orem in January of 2002, soon
after my wife and I were married. So far it has been a good place to live.
Before moving to Orem I lived in Lehi, Utah. I moved there when I was four years old and stayed there for thirty-four years. Lehi is located 25 minutes south of Salt Lake City and 20 minutes north of Provo. This makes it a great place in which to live because it's easy to enjoy all that these two big cities have to offer while still being able to enjoy the small town life that Lehi has to offer. Lehi is home to an annual celebration during the last week of June. Activities usually include parades, art shows, a carnival and various other activities and contests. All of this is topped off with 3 nights of PRCA Rodeo, called "The Lehi Round-Up". Besides that, the mountains are just to the east, with skiing, fishing, hunting and hiking, while just to the west is Utah's desert area, with many other interesting things to see and do.
I graduated from Lehi High School in 1982, where I was a member of the State Champion track team. I earned a scholarship to attend the Utah Technical College (now called Utah Valley State College), where I received an Associate of Applied Science Degree in the field of Drafting and Design Technology. I have worked for RB&G Engineering since 1988 as a Geotechnical Draftsman. I started out doing my drafting on the table, but have been using Computer Aided Drafting since 1994.
In August of 2001 I first met my wife-to-be, Alla Vladimir Movsesyan. Alla is from the former Soviet Republic of Armenia. She was in America visiting relatives and studying English (which she planned to teach when she returned to Armenia). We met online using an LDS singles web site. After several weeks of writing back and forth we had our first date on August 29, 2002, when she went with me to one of my softball games. After that we began seeing each other or talking on the phone almost daily. I asked Alla to marry me on October 25th, 2001. She said "Yes"! We wanted to get married as soon as possible so on November 13, 2001 we got our marriage license and were married by the Mayor of Lehi.

My three biggest interests, besides
my wife, are Utah Patch Collecting, playing City League Slow-pitch Softball (USSSA)
and cats.
I have made a page to show off
my Utah Patch Collection. This is my primary patch collecting
interest, for obvious reasons, and any help I can get to add to my Utah collection will be
greatly appreciated. If you have any extra Utah patches please let me know.
In order to raise money to pay some bills and also buy Utah patches that I need, I have begun selling all my other patches on eBay and in my eBay store. If you would like to see what patches I have for sale please visit my store.

I have adopted these two
kittens pictured above. Of course, they are much larger now. They are currently with my parents in Lehi,
but I visit them often. They are also lots of fun, and are great companions.
Believe it or not, these two ARE brothers (same mother, same litter)! Tazz is an American Longhair with Tabby stripes, and Jazz is a Flame-Tip Siamese. I got these two in late October, 1997, the day after my previous cat, named Maui, was hit by a car and killed. I'm now an advocate of keeping cats indoors, and hopefully Tazz and Jazz will be around a lot longer than Maui's three short years.
